Sleepover Fun!
To kick off summer break this year, I let my daughter invite her friends over for a sleepover! I just love having a house full of kids. They had pizza, watched a movie and chatted late into the night. I miss those days!

Sassy girls!

Shop Local Portland: Just Like a Woman

I am so excited, today I am starting a Shop Local Portland series! Through the summer I will be featuring one local business a month that is either in Portland or near by

Today, I am featuring: Just like a woman, a specialty lingerie shop. It is the only place I will shop for bras!

Just Like a Woman
Specialty Lingerie

6333 S.W. Macadam Ave. Suite 102 • Portland, OR 97239
 (503) 246-7000

 Website/ Facebook

Bra shopping can be a nightmare, for years I unknowingly wore bras that didn't fit properly. I used to shop at a very popular lingerie chain at the mall that will remain nameless. When I would go there to shop I always left with a headache. The service was never great, the girls doing the fitting didn't seem to know what they were doing, and I even though I'd buy the size that the fitting suggested the bras I bought never fit well and were so uncomfortable!! Well, my very first time at Just Like a Woman, I found out that I had been wearing bras that were 2 sizes too small. That lingerie chain at the mall doesn't even carry my size!

When I go to Just Like a Woman, I am greeted by friendly smiles and a sweet labradoodle named Paz. The girls who do fittings actually know what they are doing and will bring everything you need to you in the dressing room. I know that I will always have a delightful experience and will go home with a good bra that fits correctly and looks and feels great!

I had the pleasure of speaking with Margy Imlay, President of Just Like a Woman and asked her a few questions. Margy is a health educator with 20 years experience in the field. She is also a BOC certified fitter, and a certified cancer exercise specialist.

When was  the Just Like a Woman established?
5/1/2001

What are the hours:
Mon.-Fri. 10:00am-6:00pm, Sat 10:00am-5:00pm
Appointments available!

What is Just Like a Woman is all about?
We believe that from the moment we are born, women are presented with challenges that effect the way we feel about ourselves: puberty, maternity, breast cancer, etc. As a society, we are constantly barraged by what the "perfect" woman looks like. Our mission here is to make every woman feel "Just Like a Woman" which is the most fabulous way to feel!!

Is there anything else you’d like to tell everyone?
Just tell everyone to come on in for the fun!! My staff is great and we try out best to always provide great service and perfect products!!

Maternity: JLAW carries many brands of nursing bras.

Mastectomy: The spirit of survival is strong here. We know just how to help you find the products you need to pull it together with style. In addition, we will handle all of the insurance issues for you. Come in have a cup of tea, sit back and let us take care of you!

Hard-to-Find: We carry fabulous bras for all sizes. Whether you are a 28D, 56K or somewhere in between, let us hook you up!

I just have to share one more thing with you all. I was browsing their facebook page, and I saw this post from a customer. It just touched my heart! You don't see this kindness like this anymore. Marge is clearly just a wonderful person!
I hope that if you are in Portland you will stop by and check out their wonderful store! If you do, be sure to mention That Suburban Momma for a 10% discount!

I hate sharing my kid!

Today I had to say goodbye to my little Princess. She will be staying with her bio dad for 2 weeks. I've been doing this for over 5 years and it hasn't gotten any easier. Leading up to her leaving, I feel the anxiety creeping up. I freak out when it's only going to be a weekend, so I really dread the two week blocks in the summer. Yes, we'll have phone calls, but it's just not the same. I miss my baby!

I HATE SHARING!!!

She's mine and I hate sharing! Let me be honest about something for a second, you know when you have a baby and everyone and their mom wants to hold them? I HATED it! I hated when the ex's mom wanted to take her from me... okay, I'll admit that maybe I'm a little over attached, but I can't help it. She is my everything, and it's hard to have to let her go for long periods of time.

Luckily I have a lot of big exciting things going on this next two weeks that will keep me occupied (you'll hear all about it later!) and she is on her way to Florida to have a blast at Disney World.

I understand that time with her dad is important, it's just hard. I will get through this.

Do you have to share your kids? How do you deal?
Prayers for my Princess on her flight please!!

A Day in The Life of Calleigh Emma- Giveaway

Today I would love to introduce you to Beki from A Day in The Life of Calleigh Emma. She is also giving away a beautiful Cinderella necklace! Enter through Rafflecopter below.

Tell me a little about yourself?
Hi, I'm Beki, I'm 23 years old and come from a little village called Breaston in the UK. I married the man of my dreams in 2010 and we had a beautiful little girl together in November 2011, we called her Calleigh. I got the name from the TV series CSI: Miami :-)
Calleigh is now 18 months old and I am a stay at home mum.
I enjoy blogging, baking, jewelry making and scrapbooking.
We just made a massive move as a family all the way to St Louis, Missouri. We have been here for about 10 weeks now and are just about settled in to the place we will call home for the next 3 years.

What do you write about on your blog?
My blog is all about my family. Mainly Calleigh as the name suggests. I write to keep my family and friends up to date with how we all are and what Calleigh has been doing. I also like to include some outfit posts, recipes and reviews now and again.
Since we moved away from our families in England the blog means so much more to me as it's the main way they can see Calleigh growing up.

What advice would you give to new bloggers?
My advice would be to blog about what makes you happy. If you have a reason to blog then do it, it doesn't matter what it is about or if it's important as long as it's important to you.

What do you do on your free time?
In my free time I like to blog and make jewelry. When Calleigh goes for a nap that's my free time so I try to squeeze in as much as I can in that time. Sometimes I even get to have a relaxing bubble bath.. sometimes..

What are you listening to right now? (music that you are stuck on at the moment)
Fall Out Boys new song I think it's called My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark. I can't get it out of my head it's so catchy. I'm constantly walking around screaming "I'm on firrree" haha.

What is your beauty must have?
At the moment my skin is really bad, I have always had teenage skin problems such as breakouts so I use the Clinque Anti Blemish 3 step system. It does a good job at keeping breakouts at bay.

Is there anything else you would like us to know?
I started another blog when I found out we were moving to the states. You can check it out here if you are interested: http://emigratingeatons.blogspot.com/

Beki has an Etsy shop where she sells fairytale themed jewelry!! Today she is giving away a beautiful Cinderella necklace!

Sephora Super Stars Beauty Essentials Review

When I spotted the Super Stars Beauty Essentials Set at Sephora, I knew I had to buy it. First, because it has many of my regular products and second, because it's an amazing deal! I went to Sephora because I was out of mascara, blush, & eyeliner. Those 3 items alone would have cost me $72, so I was insanely excited to get 10 amazing items for only $3 more. Plus, I had a VIB Beauty Insider 10% off coupon, so I got it for only $67.50!!

According to Sephora
It's a must-have kit featuring 10 of Sephora’s top-selling beauty essentials.

BUXOM Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Dolly 0.15 oz ($19)
Online Version of the kit has this in Sandy

As many of you know, I am a lipstick girl. Red to be specific, so this was a big change for me. I am absolutely in LOVE with Buxom lipstick, so I had to give this a try.

The color isn't very vibrant on my lips because of my dark skin, but I have been loving it to switch things up with a more neutral look. It's definitely long lasting compared to other lip gloss which is a huge plus for me! Another big plus is that it isn't sticky like many other lip glosses I've tried. It has a tingly cooling sensation, but not a very noticeable plumping effect. It smells nice, and has a sweet taste to it.

Stila Stay All Day® Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner 0.016 oz ($20)

I am so in love with this!! I have been a liquid liner user since my high school days and have tried so many different kinds. First of all, this liner is so easy to apply! I like to do a cat eye and I've had days where I had to do my liner over and over, but with Stila Stay All Day's easy to use applicator, it's easy peasy. This liner lasts all day and night with out smudging or running. I even went swimming one day, and it stayed in place. Surprisingly it isn't hard to remove with makeup remover like some waterproof liners.

Benefit They're Real! Mascara 0.3 oz ($23)

I have been using this one for years! If you know me in real life, you know that I LOVE the look of dramatic lashes. When I don't have time to put on falsies, this mascara totally does the trick. A couple coats give you longer, thicker, more voluminous lashes! It doesn't clump and the brush does a great job of separating the lashes. Benefit, please never stop making this because I'm hooked for life!!

Sephora Collection Microsmooth Baked Eye Shadow Trio in Sunset 0.06 oz ($19)
Online Version of the kit has this in Black Light

I love that this has the highlighter, crease color, & eye lid color all in one. It goes on very smooth and is very blendable and lasted all day. The colors are very neutral which is exactly what I would normally wear except a bit shimmery for my daytime wear, so I will save it for nights out.

NARS Blush in Orgasm 0.16 oz ($29)

This is another one of the products that I already use! This blush is amazing! Orgasm gives the perfect pink/peachy color. I have light skinned friends that use this and it seriously looks amazing on all skin tones. If you apply it lightly it gives a very natural look, but it is very buildable if you prefer a more dramatic look like me! This really lives up to the hype, if you haven't already, TRY IT!!

Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder 0.035 oz  (Full Size 0.17 oz $16)

This sample was a bit measly, but I didn't mind because I'm not a huge fan of it. Many people love this stuff, but I personally prefer Nars Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder because it does the same job, but isn't as drying.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer  0.33 oz ($18)

This goes on silky smooth and keeps oily skin under control! I have been using it for a week and accidentally went without for a day. There was a very noticeable difference. My foundation didn't last nearly as long, and my skin seemed a bit more oily. Only a sample size came in the kit, but a little goes a long way. I'm not sure if I'll buy the full size when it runs out because I also loved the LAFACE Laboratories PROTÉGÉR Age Defying Primer that came in my May birchbox. They're both really good, so I will have to see how I feel when I'm through using the samples.

Kat Von D Saint Eau de Parfum Rollerball 0.33 oz ($18)

My signature scent is Chance by Chanel which is floral but woodsy at the same time, Chance is somehow sweet but sexy which is why I have had a hard time wearing anything else for years.

The name, Saint, definitely suits this sweet scent. It's a vanilla/floral scent. I've worn it a couple times, and I really do like it, but I'm not sure how often I'll wear it which is to no fault of it's own, but because of my attachment to Chance. However, vanilla is the number one favorite scent of men, and my guy did love this one so I'll have to at least wear it occasionally.

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil 0.5 oz ($14)

This stuff is craze amaze! I tend to get dry spots under my eyes. Since I started using this on my face at night, my skin has been so smooth. I'm totally hooked on argan oil. I did a little price checking on pure argan oil and the price on this is a bit steep, so I will probably go with another brand to save money when my sample runs out.

Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment 0.5 oz ($22)

This is probably one of the best exfoliating treatment I have ever used. I love the smell! When I used it for the first time my eyes teared up so I knew it was working. It leaves my skin so soft and radiant, and it does wonders for blackheads.

My overall opinion of this kit is that it is a must have! Many of the products are full size and at $75 it is an amazing deal saving you almost $100. Even though I may not buy all of the products when they run out, they are all amazing and have great reviews, and this is a great way to try them all. If you are new to makeup, buy this! All you need to add is a good foundation and you are good to go.

Father's Day
Happy belated Father's Day to all the wonderful fathers out there! I hope you all had as wonderful of a day as we did!

This is my favorite photo of the day. It's just so sweet!

The Princess painted a picture of a purple dinosaur on a small canvas for Daddy. He loved it!

She also picked out a picture frame with the Luke Skywalker quote, ""The Force runs strong in my family" and a button that plays the Darth Vader song. He of course loved both!

Did you do anything special for Father's Day?

Goodbye My Loves
I can't believe this school year has gone by so quickly. The end of the school year is always a little sad for me. I spend everyday with my little ones, then have to say goodbye. Some of them I'll see from time to time, others I may never see again. They're so young that I wonder if they will remember all of our good times. One thing I know is that they will all be in my heart forever.

I love you all and will miss you dearly. I wish you nothing but happiness and success in school and in life. ❤❤❤
